We begin tonight with new faces on the Boston City Council. This morning at Faneuil Hall, Mayor Walsh swore in the first council in Boston with a majority of women and people of color.
This afternoon in City Hall, the council chose its new president. Taking the gavel is the second-term district councilor from Roxbury, Kim Janey. Following the vote, she said she would focus on the city's housing needs and reducing the wealth gap.
An event will take place Thursday at Roxbury Community College to honor the late council member and community leader Chuck Turner.
