We begin tonight with a push by local officials for more rail service in the Boston area. This afternoon, Mayor Walsh asked M-B-T-A officials for more frequent service on the Fairmount Indigo Line. On average, during the morning rush hour, the trains run every forty-eight minutes.
City councilor Michelle Wu has called for abolition and replacement of the Boston Planning and Development Agency. In communications today, Wu criticized the current development process for a lack of protection from displacement, traffic congestion, and exposure to climate change.
Thirty people with disabilities are out of a job, after a change of contractors on the Rose Kennedy Greenway. Until last Tuesday, maintenance on the Greenway had been done for more than ten years by the nonprofit WORK Inc.
