Our top story: the state legislature moves toward new restrictions for drivers using cell phones. The House of Representatives voted yesterday--almost unanimously--to ban the use of hand-held phones while driving, except in emergencies. And the Boston Globe reports a missing piece in this year's state budget proposals: a major new strategy for transportation. Despite growing frustration among riders and motorists, the Globe reports there's no definite plan jointly backed by legislators and the governor. This morning at Logan Airport, more than two thousand students from Greater Boston got some hands-on exposure to careers in science and technology.
