A message to ride-share customers today from drivers at Uber and Lyft. In Boston and other cities around the country, ride-share drivers went on strike for as much as twenty-four hours--one day before Uber was supposed to go public on the stock market, for more than ninety billion dollars. The Boston area's immigrant population continues to grow--but with a new pattern. A report by the Boston Foundation says there's a shift, with more growth in outlying cities and towns. At the same time, the percentage of the white population's increasing in the South End, Mission Hill and Jamaica Plain. Boston Police are investigating a fatal shooting of man this morning in Dorchester. The victim was found a little after ten o'clock inside a home on Milton Street. A Boston police officer whose gun was stolen during a rendez-vous with strippers has been fired. In late March, thirty-seven year-old Emmanuel Brandao was reportedly terminated for conduct that was unsatisfactory and unfit for an officer.
