We begin with chorus of solidarity for striking workers at Stop and Shop. Yesterday afternoon, at the South Bay Store in Dorchester, the workers got reinforcement from allies in other labor unions. A Boston city councilor wants zoning decisions for large developments to consider the effect on displacement. According to the Bay State Banner, Lydia Edwards is proposing a change in the city's zoning code, based on the federal civil rights act of 1968. And the Trump Administration wants to cut back on access to federally-subsidized housing by unauthorized immigrants. Currently, the rental subsidies are available to any household that includes at least one person with legal status.
