Why does one write? - The primary reason for writing anything is to
communicate with others, to stimulate interest or action from the reader. You
may also use writing to help you to reflect on your experiences and learn
from them.
Because writing, as celebrated professor Mark Edmundson explains, is one of
the greatest human goods. Real writing can do what critic R. P. Blackmur said
it could: add to the stock of available reality. Writing teaches us to think;
it can bring our minds to birth. As we tune in to Willie's Web and listen to
the guest authors, what will your story look like?
